Physical Appearance → Black hair (sometimes with colored highlights) and emerald green eyes. 5 foot 9 inches tall. Athletic build. Has his septum pierced, ears gauged to a 0, and snakebite piercings. Has more tattoos than are able to be counted on fingers and toes. Often wears eyeliner. His style is very rock-inspired. Ripped jeans, band tee-shirts, horror movie inspired tee-shirts, chains, etc.

→ Comes from a financially sound family. Never had to work yet he has always done something from working at an art gallery, his father’s law firm, just generally he needs to keep himself busy and values hard work.
→ Worked at Klein, Manning and Steil, his father’s legal firm, for four years while he was in college in the billing department. He finally got fed up with it and quit with limited notice.
→ But he’s not above accepting a financial gift now and again from his father, Landen.
→ Stubborn, determined, strong willed, generally outspoken and incredibly focused. But he’s a really, over all, chilled out personality in the majority.

His mother, Carmen Rhys, whom divorced his father when Alex was four and hasn’t seen her since. Step mother, Shelly Rodriguez-Manning, whom married Landen Sr. when Alex was 9. Very stereotypical “Gold Digger” type model. He doesn’t like her, at all. In 2009 he found out he has a younger brother named Travis, spawned from an affair his father had. He managed to convince his little brother to move up to West Chester finally.
→ Alex is the father of a four year old little girl named Ava Kimora Manning [November 25th, 2005]. Alex just got her living with him after almost five years of her living with her mother.
→ Alex has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Miami.
→ In some way, Alex always knew what he wanted to do with his life. He’s been musical since he was twelve years old, and that ultimately lead him to where he is now.
→ Alex helps out in his spare time down at Fairman's Skate Shop with stocking just to keep himself busy.

→ Alex has known his girlfriend, starson, for quite a while. Long term friends turned to a lot more, feeling out the friendship process, finding out that they had feelings for each other, and things became legitimately official on November 21st, 2009. Jenna popped the question to Alex on May 9th, 2010 asking him to marry her. While he had originally planned to ask her on the 21st of May (on their 6th month anniversary), he said yes to her proposal.

→ Waking Midnight formed when best friends Alex Manning and Brent Dawson wanted to make music together. The band culminated in 2002 and has been active since.
→ Alex is a guitarist/vocalist for the band.
→ Alex writes on the majority of the lyrics for Waking Midnight material with his life-long best friend Brent Dawson.
→ Alex personally has been on the cover of a few big named magazines. From Guitar World to Rolling Stone Magazine.
→ Waking Midnight has won a few awards including Kerrang! Award for Album Of The Year for their "Unholy Confessions" Effort (2008), MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist (2008). Most recent awards the band has collected include ; Best Hard Rock & Best Album Artwork at the North East Awards on November 21st. This was topped off with Artist Of The Year at the American Music Awards on November 22nd. They also won the 2010 Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance for "Scream" beating out the likes of ACDC, Metallica, Alice In Chains and Linkin Park.
→ In the past year, Waking Midnight’s following has become highly extensive due to the exposure they’ve gotten from their major album release.
→ In a recent interview, Alex verified that the band had just signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records.
→ Their single “Beast & The Harlot” went to #2 on Billboard Charts.
→ Alex’s favorite song the band has written to date is “I Won’t See You Tonight”. He’s also a huge fan of their new recording “Critical Acclaim”.
→ Alex is by far the band’s hardest critic. If something doesn’t sound right, he’s not afraid to open his mouth and let it be known.
→ Alex also does all of the artwork for the band’s material. Alex was also the mastermind behind the band’s skull bat logo.
→ Because of their difference in hand playing, Sully Suicide and Alex Manning often play back to back on stage (Sully being right handed, Alex being left) - which is usually fun to watch from a crowd perspective. He also does so with bassist Colby Craven.
→ Their 2010 release "AFTERLIFE" debuted at #2 on Billboard charts, and has dominated itunes since its release in January.
